Freemasonry has always been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged. Additionally it has given millions of dollars in financial aid to various charities. Charity is a vital feature of every Freemason's heart and a high profile element of his Masonic life and it is a must that we keep this duty a priority. We must always rememeber that charity is not just about giving money and material goods to those that are in need, but also it is about giving to those that need your time. Crispus Attucks Lodge #51 has chosen to sponser a football team (The West Side Cubs). This is a team of underprivileged kids that are striving to do well on the field as well as in school. Our goal is to assist in empowering and enlightening these at-risk young men with a postivie future through education and sports by sponsoring mentoring program like this one. We must realize that our kids are our future. This team is located in the Detroit, MI area. The Brothers of Crispus Attucks Lodge #51 commend Bro. Suggs for his commitment to seeing that this charitable project is a success and ensuring that these young men have all the tools they need to succeed in their endevors. Bro. Suggs has given unselfishly much of his time and his money. Great Job Brother!!!
